2009 Competition Round up

Lougherne stallions have had a fantastic competitive year both for themselves & for their progeny. We can't list everyone but here are a few of our high flyers
SHOW JUMPING: Loughview Lou Lou ( LIMMERICK out of L.Diamond Lucy) bred by Judith Sossick & ridden by Connor Drain was on the Irish Show Jumping Team at the Junior European Championships in Holland. This combination also won the 1.50 Grand Prix at the GB European Team Selection Trials.
Belle Rock (LIMMERICK out of Crew Lass) bred by Susan & Ramsay Stewart & ridden by Clem McMahon, won the Horse Sport Ireland 7 Year old All Ireland Show jumping title.
Fresh Direct Kalico Bay (LIMMERICK out of Cruise Missile) has made his mark on the International show jumping scene with Tim Stockdale. The Bay gelding has been named as top Irish bred show jumper in 2009. (Breeder T.Sheills, Co.Armagh)
Lougherne Connaught wins his first S**/ 1.45m competition while Lougherne Cavann takes a very successful move into S*** both in Germany with Thorsten Wittenburg

EVENTING Lara's Song (Bred by John Reid) & Meginnis (Bred by Paddy Tiernan) are both on the Irish Team Elite Training Squad under expert tuition from Ginny Elliott (Leng)

SHOWING: Indicator (Bred by Trevor & Lorraine Wallace) & expertly shown by Ann & Willy Lyons takes the All Ireland Yearling Championship.
HOUMAYOUN & BUILDERS DELIGHT both compete at Royal Dublin Society Show, August 2009.

HBHBS Top Stallion Award goes to LIMMERICK for the second year in a row.
NIHB Services to the Industry Award goes to Lougherne Stud

Northern Ireland Horse Board National Awards. LIMMERICK progeny take 4 out of the 12 awards with the International Award winners in March still to be formally announced.
