The new Stud Book in Ireland , the SIES - Studbook for Irish European Sportshorses held its first Northern Stallion Grading here at Stud. The initial dates were re scheduled due to the volcanic flight disruptions for flying in the inspectors & as the original northern venue was unavailable for the new dates we were asked if we could help & were only too pleased.
The sun shone, the spectators gathered & the horses all jumped very well. Frank & John Curran's International Grand Prix Jumping Stallion Cantus T started proceedings and was awarded Full Approval status. CantusT (Holstein) will be available for covering here at Stud from Saturday 8th May.
Lougherne Cashell, Lougherne Carrick-a-Reide & Lougherne Quick Step all jumped loose & gained Licenced status. This is the top classification available to a young sire.
Henk Minderman addressed the stallion owners & spectators & was genuinely delighted with the scope & type of stallions presented for Grading. Congratulations to all those who brought forward stallions. The Day was well run & any critisisms of horses were well intentioned & indeed well received. This was a great start for the SIES Studbook & got a rousing round of applause from the spectators.

All details are available from the SIES Office - Call Janice on 028 97 563838. We wish Henk Minderman & Janice Stevenson every success & Lougherne Stud will be supporting them with their young stallions & their International Stallions
