2010 Update: Lougherne COOL RUNNING is a homebred 5 year old stallion who stood at public stud for the first time in 2009 season. While only available to a limited book of mares in 2009 he will now fit in a full stud season and the start of his competition career He is by the Cassini I, holstein son Lougherne Connaught, out of the hannovarian/thoroughbred show jumping dam Lougherne Ring of Kerry. His sire, the 8 year old L.Connaught, is currently competing in Holstein & in 2010 makes the transition to Grand Prix level S*** (1.50m) classes, while the dam collected her showjumping points in Ireland. Lougherne Cool Running has 2 impressive jumping parents & started his career with winning a 3 year old jumping qualifier at his first competition in 2008 and went on to impress the judges at his Anglo European Studbook Stallion Inspection & gained Licenced status. This year he will continue his ridden career yet allow Breeders to use these interesting bloodline at a low price.
Lougherne Stud are delighted that Cool Running will be going to join his Father Lougherne Connaught in Germany following his ridden test with international rider Thorsten Wittenberg. Thorsten & his partner Tami, the ex Danish Leading showjumper rider, loved his technique & cool approach to life & he will be joining their stables at the end of the season.
